THE FUNDAMENTALS
Move the contact point.
Keep the skill.
Push pull tools allow an operator to apply controlled guidance through an extended interface instead of placing a hand directly on the load.
HOW THEY WORK
The head engages. The shaft transfers. The operator guides.
A head provides contact or engagement; the shaft creates working distance; the handle supports control. Every part belongs in the specification.
| Use | What to review |
|---|---|
| Pushing | Head seating, direction of force and the possibility of slipping. |
| Pulling | Positive engagement and a release route. An open head does not securely hook every shape. |
| Positioning | Available clearance, visibility and operator footing. |
| Retrieving | Suitability of the hook or sling interface and the weight involved. |
OPERATING BOUNDARY
Guidance is a distinct function.
The crane, hoist or approved support carries the load. Push pull poles are not lifting accessories, props, pry bars or restraints for uncontrolled motion. Stay outside the travel path and closing clearances; added reach alone does not remove the line of fire.
Introduce the tool through a task assessment, controlled trial, operator instruction and inspection routine.
